↻ I N F O ↻
— PERSONALITY —
Isaac's personality is that of "a good man who means well but doesn't always do well", Isaac said this to Carver, one of his EarthGov partners in DS III. Isaac is a conflicted and somewhat of an emotionally distraught individual. He feels an immense sense of guilt for things out of his control, both in the past and for the devastation around him. He, however, has a great amount of hope in the face of situations that seem all together overwhelming or unbearable to others. He constantly comforts his partners by telling them that the job will get done, that they'll make it out of this mess, that he'll take lead when others are to upset or afraid. His biggest hope, in all things, is in man and that mankind will do the right thing. Even when facing the antagonist, Danik, he implores him to "do the right thing," even though Danik was a man with quite the trail of destruction behind him. He doesn't believe that it's too late to change things when there's time to change from one really horrible path to a better one that benefits all. He's much more harder on himself than he is on others, even his enemies.

Isaac is a very determined man, though sometimes he may need a push in the right direction. During the start of DS III he's sworn off the Markers, Unitologists, and isolated himself almost completely from the events of the world (or worlds/space/whatever- figure of speech!). He lived just beneath the radar and was content to run the rest of his life from Unitologists rather than take his battle to the next level, and achieve ultimate freedom from all –– rather than just running from it. It took some persuasion before Isaac finally agreed to work together with EarthGov to try and put a stop to this Marker business once and for all.

Then, once again in these high stress situations, we see Isaac with his former self-preserving attitude and quick conflict resolution, seemingly quite back "together" as a person rather than how he managed on the "run". I'll bring up the state of his life briefly: DS II and DS III, between that time he lived in a crappy apartment, which is in a horrid state of mess, he was skittish, pissed off all the time, unhappy, and stressed. Isaac is familiar with life at a high level stress, and when he was on the "run" his mind was left to think, the calm of his environment, the unhappy state of his love life with his new girlfriend Ellie, drove him into a fit, he couldn't cope. Back in action, we see almost a complete change, a comfortable sate of being even. I would argue it has everything to do with his extreme experience in the last two games. Those kind of interactions, those experiences, those traumas, Isaac could not cope with living a normal life after that and he was very unsuccessful! But in the intense heat of a situation he is calm, collective, and can navigate through dangers to overcome almost impossible situations.

Isaac is a very devoted individual, once he sets his mind or heart on something or someone, then he's in for the long haul. As an example, he went to Nicole (his girlfriend during the events prior and during the first Dead Space) when she was in trouble, and he also goes for Ellie (girlfriend after DS II and before the events of DS III) when she's in trouble too. Sadly, however, his conflict over won his affection for Ellie and before DS III she ends up leaving him to carry on fighting to put a stop to the necromorph disease. He regrets the stern and stubborn decision of trying to put the past behind him and realizes that he let not just himself down, but Ellie––furthermore the rest of the human race because of the very real extinction in plans for their kind by these Markers. He eventually comes to terms with his mistakes and hopes that some amendable actions will redeem him. His new devotion became the mission, and eventually he came to terms that this trip to the alien planet was a one way trip and he will do everything in his power to save his race.

Important things to note about Isaac's personality is that he suffers from severe dementia, schizophrenic paranoia (though it could be argued that it is externally influenced by the Markers), insomnia, delusions, paranoia, delusions and hallucinations, obsessive compulsive behavior.

Here's Doctor Samara Yasmin's session note found in Dead Space II.
— ABILITIES —
Isaac is really a typical normal individual, he's as strong as he works out to be, he's as clever as he keeps his mind active and challenges himself. Isaac is an engineer and thus he has knowledge and wisdom in those matters, but it's simply quite relative because he has the knowledge of machinery from his world, so anything in another world (typically rp game worlds) he would need to learn, explore, and educate himself on––but because of how his mind works he would be able to do this far quicker than perhaps another person that is not skilled in these areas. He doesn't have any magical or superhuman anything.

He is also the marker creator and the marker destroyer. He has been able to absorb and retain the secrets of the marker's design in such that he can build them and he can also destroy them; which makes him incredibly valuable in his world: either in a sense to be killed by the Unitolgist factions, or to be studied by the EarthGov factions.

Isaac has incredible resilience, even when facing the end of all hope he is able to pick up the pieces and move forward so long as he's got a plan. Even a glimmer of light in the darkness that surrounds him is significant enough to give him the strength to move forward.

Although Isaac is an engineer he's been able to use his experience and knowledge to fight off his enemies by using tact, strength, endurance, and defend himself against them with upgrading his suit and weaponry.

Isaac can create and upgrade his own weapons from found materials which proves crucial to his survival as the further he goes on his path the more treacherous the journey and monsters become.

Clothes

shoes, trousers, belt, under garments, shirt, jacket, gloves, watch, etc. [ ]

CEC Engineer Suit

"The Engineering Suit is the standard exoskeleton for any active engineers. The chest area of the suit is padded with rib-like platings, likely to protect the wearer from machinery and occupational hazards. The suit's helmet is plated with armor and has several narrow slits for both vision and shielding from loose debris during duty. The Engineering Suit has thrusters located on the shoulders and legs of the suit. The helmet can fold into several different sections and be stored in the suit.

Like all suits, it is self-sealing. This means that if its external shell is punctured, or if a hazardous environment is detected, it will seal itself, allowing the wearer to enter a vacuum or another similarly hazardous environment." ––deadspace.wikia [ ]

Shotgun

"The shotgun is effective at close to medium range and can cause tremendous damage to human and necromorph foes alike. It is well-suited for use as a primary weapon, especially when upgraded to overcome its main shortcoming: a slow rate of fire. When paired with a long-range weapon - like a javelin - you can create a weapon that is useful in nearly any situation. You can also specialize it for close-range combat with a force gun that will keep your enemies at optimal range." ––deadspace.wikia [ ]

Planet Cracker

It shares the same design as the Plasma Cutter, although it is colored completely in steel gray. It comes with a Compact Elite Frame. Specs for this tip: DMG: 11.5, RLD: 11.5, CLP: 7.75, SPD: 9.5 [ ]

Resources

Resources are generally used to craft various items and essentials, but they are also used to upgrade the user's RIG if they have the necessary resources. [ ]

Scrap Metal - The most common resource. It's used in nearly everything, from creating weapon parts and ammunition to forging new circuits and improvement of armor. Resource Scavenging yields Scrap Metal at a much higher amount than other materials.

Semiconductors -
A semi-common resource used extensively in Armor upgrades and the creation of some weapon parts. "An extremely rare electrical component." [ ]

Transducers - A somewhat rare resource used extensively in Stasis Module upgrades and the creation of Stasis Packs. Transducers are generally found in wall containers in much greater amounts and availability than that of natural drops or in boxes.

Tungsten - The rarest resource, used in the creation of advanced weapon parts, circuits and Tungsten Torque Bars, which can be used to unlock certain storage rooms. Depending on the type of weapon frame being used, Tungsten must be spent to unlock additional circuit slots at 20, 40 and 60 counts, unless using an Elite (or better) frame, which will have all slots already unlocked.

Somatic Gel - Somatic Gel is only used in the creation of Med Packs and for RIG hit point upgrades. At higher difficulties or on Pure Survival mode, Somatic Gel becomes vastly more scarce compared to other modes, unlike other resources.

Scavenger Bot

"The Scavenger Bot is a robot that can be deployed or operated by Isaac to collect small out of the way items for use as resources. Small robots still perform many tasks where human technicians and larger robots cannot go (such as ventilation ducts and waste tunnels). Various military groups are suspected to have carried out surveillance and assassination missions using similar machines." ––deadspace.wikia [ ]
